Our body changes during life: cells die and are renewed. But with each decade they recover worse and worse. After 30 years, a person begins to lose 1-2% of muscle mass per year, even if he leads an active lifestyle. All the tissues of the body suffer losses, so the signs of aging appear on the skin. We call it aging and we know it cannot be stopped.
External signs of aging appear around the age of 25
Why the signs of aging are visible on the skin:
- fat layer decreases;
- bone mass decreases;
- connective tissue is destroyed.
Metabolism in connective tissue slows down. The building materials of our body are produced less and less: proteins (collagen and elastin) and polysaccharides (glycosaminoglycans). Roughly speaking, the aging process lies in the gradual loss of these components. What can we do? Just try to slow down aging. It often even improves the condition of the skin, restores it with the help of competent care.
How do essential oils for the face work against wrinkles?
In plants, essential oils participate in metabolic processes. The main components of esters - terpenoids and aromatic compounds - very quickly and actively undergo various chemical reactions inside the cells. Active chemical reactions also occur when ether comes into contact with human skin. Phenols, aldehydes, organic acids and alcohols in ether cause skin irritation, and blood flows faster to the place of contact with them. Thanks to this effect, compresses and applications with oil work. The higher the oil concentration and the longer the exposure, the more active the skin reaction.
Essential oils do not contain vitamins. The vitamin is stored either in water or fat; ester contains no fat or water.
Use of face oil for wrinkles
When we need to treat fine lines and wrinkles, the options seem endless. Should you choose a cream or a light anti-aging moisturizer? How about a vitamin C serum or acid gel?
Essential oils can't get rid of wrinkles, but they can help reduce them.
They can also:
- accelerate collagen production
- improve skin tone
- evens out the complexion
- reduce inflammation
- increase epithelial cell turnover
- protect the skin from the environment
What face oil to choose against wrinkles instead of cream?
One of the most valuable components of skin oils are lipids (fats). They stick the horn cells (scales) together, forming a protective barrier that retains moisture. It also protects against the entry of harmful microorganisms.
By applying it to the skin in its pure form, we feel that we strengthen this protective barrier and the skin is saturated with moisture.
But the problem is that no vegetable oil contains the right lipid ratio for our dermis. When applied to the face, we immediately feel moisturized and comfortable, as it smooths the horny scales and softens. It also creates a film that retains moisture on the surface.
If we continue to use it regularly, it will begin to penetrate deeper into the skin layer and break down our own lipids. Their ratio will begin to change, which will lead to the destruction of the lipid barrier. The skin will become even drier and scaly.
Therefore, to strengthen the lipid layer, it will be more beneficial to use fat internally.
But there is also good news. Thanks to their moisturizing and emollient properties, vegetable oils are great for dealing with wrinkles if used wisely.
In combination with other components, they have a beneficial effect on the skin and smooth fine wrinkles. Therefore, it is even recommended to use them in various mask recipes.
But so that the skin does not get used to it, the recipes must be constantly changed. But more on that below. . For the above reasons, it is not recommended to use it regularly in its pure form, so replacing it with daily care instead of a cream will not work, as it can cause serious damage.
Against wrinkles, for additional moisturizing and softening purposes, it is used in its pure form only in exceptional cases in a course of 1-2 weeks. This should be done in accordance with the following rules:
- The face must be wet before application;
- number of drops according to your skin type: dry 3-4 drops, normal 2-3, oily 1-2;
- after 15-20 minutes, wipe the lid with a napkin, thereby removing its excess;
- be sure to apply a moisturizer after use;
- Apply the oil around your eyes two hours before going to bed to avoid severe puffiness.
An effective and safer way to use anti-wrinkle oil is to add a small amount of drops to various masks, the recipes of which are given below. In combination with other components for 20-30 minutes, such compositions will benefit only if it is chosen correctly (more on that later).
Antiaging can be done 2-3 times a week. At the same time, so that the skin does not get used to it, it is recommended to change the composition of the masks once a month.
